Multidisciplinary performance company, Northern Rascals, are inviting performers, dancers and theatre makers to join them for a 3 day residency to create a bespoke performance as part of their new show, SHED. The opportunity is open to anyone aged 18-30 and encourages those with some existing movement or dance experience.
About the opportunity:
Working closely with the expert creative team, participants will explore themes relevant to them, crafting a unique response through a dynamic fusion of dance, theatre, and spoken word. They will shape the direction of the work to make a final creation that is authentic to all those involved, and part of the performance of SHED at AMATA Arts Centre on Saturday 1st March 2025.
You will need to be available for the duration of the workshops from:
Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd February 2025, 10am – 4pm, and for the performance from 4pm on Saturday 1st March.
The workshops are free to attend.
The workshops will take place at AMATA Arts Centre and at Ponsanooth Village Hall.

About the show:
SHED is Northern Rascals’ brand-new project that uses visual art, spoken word and performance to raise awareness of the issues young people face with their mental health. Performed by a small cast of dancers in a pop-up structure, SHED invites its audience to stand on the outside and look in. A chance to witness real-life experiences told in a series of shorts, the audience get a glimpse of the stories that make us – a portrait of love and loss and the essential humanity that resides in us all.
