Artists
Carn to Cove support artists to make and tour high quality and engaging performance for rural communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We work with communities to programme performance in venues local to them, whether that is a village hall or a school playground. If you are an artist or company keen to tour your work in Cornwall then we’d love to hear from you…
About Rural Touring
Carn to Cove is a member of the National Rural Touring Forum and we work with a diverse range of top quality touring artists that produce and tour accessible performances for our communities. We work with companies and artists based locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
If you’re new to rural touring and are interested to work with us, you might find it useful to read some of the resources on the National Rural Touring Forum (NRTF) website.

How it works
If your performance is chosen by promoters then we will contact you to discuss dates and logistics and put you in touch with promoters directly to make arrangements. Carn to Cove will engage both the promoter and the artists or company with a letter of agreement and a code of conduct.
Each performance is only made possible thanks to a team of hard working people. Here is a brief outline of some of the responsibilities involved:
Carn to Cove shall:
- Work in partnership with local promoters in staging the event, acting as a co-ordinator between the Company an the Promoter.
- Ensure that the venue is aware of the technical requirements, as indicated by the Company, to perform at that venue.
- Publicise the event in appropriate publications.
Village Hall promoters shall provide:
- Light refreshments & homestay accommodation where required.
Technical requirements as specified on the Carn to Cove company information sheet.

The Company shall:
- Provide promoters, without charge, publicity material and to dispatch directly to their address – to arrive no later than six weeks prior to the performance.
- Provide Carn to Cove with details of any technical, casual labour for get in or other requirements they have in the show details and at least one month before the above date.
- Provide adequate insurances for performers and artists. It is essential to have public liability insurance, and where appropriate, employee liability insurance.
Made in Cornwall
If you are based in Cornwall and making performance work and don’t know how to take it to the next level then a Scratch Night might be just what you need…
A Scratch Night is about being brave and testing your idea in front of a small, friendly and creative constructive audience who then give you feedback.
Our ‘Made in Cornwall Scratch Nights’ are a collaboration between some of Cornwall’s cultural institutions which means you get some of the regions leading brains, experience and creativity in a room with you.
