Cornwall Museums Partnership (CMP) is an innovative charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) that exists to support all museums in Cornwall.
Our vision is that Cornwall’s museums will be a strong network of sustainable organisations, at the heart of Cornwall’s culture, creating memorable and enjoyable experiences for all. Between 2018 and 2022 we will invest nearly £4.5m to help museums in Cornwall to thrive. Our ambitious programme will promote innovation, help museums to raise standards, improve museums’ business performance, and develop and share new knowledge about museums’ collections to inspire a wide range of people.
Put simply, we want to help museums to make people’s lives better by ensuring that Cornwall’s unique cultural identity is shared with and enjoyed by as many people as possible. As a board member of CMP, you will provide the strategic direction for the efficient delivery of the charity’s objectives working with over 70 museums, a range of community and business partners, Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and Cornwall Council to maximise its impact.
You will be a powerful and persuasive ambassador for the charity with funders, donors, members, supporting its ambitious agenda to help all museums in Cornwall to thrive.
We are seeking exceptional individuals with relevant expertise and experience to influence, shape and drive forward our mission.
You will have a track record of strategic leadership in a third sector organisation or commercial business, with a passion for Cornwall, and its future. We are particularly interested to hear from people with a background in finance or business.
You will possess strong communication skills, with the ability to influence a broad range of high-level stakeholders.
