Approaching choreography through a wide variety of movement philosophies, Canadian-Swedish dance duo Tentacle Tribe concocts uncommon dance works with a contemporary approach. Drawing from their wide scope of dance experience, Tentacle Tribe create conceptual hip-hop with a contemporary twist, while intermingling organic influences from earthly creatures.
This event will be a double bill of Origami Mami – their acclaimed female breaking trio that has been presented internationally in the Hip-hop theatre network, and Nobody Likes A Pixelated Squid the company’s famed duet that has toured in 80 cities worldwide. In a delectable fusion of music and movement, they invent a geometry of harmonious urban contemporary dance that they call ‘conceptual hip-hop’ or ‘deconstructed street dance’.
