The Chapel Street Ensemble was formed in 2021, from professional players based in West Cornwall. Named after one of the most historic and characterful streets in Penzance, it started
life as a piano quartet in 2020, and has been growing ever since, giving two concerts in the 2021 Chapel Street Festival of Chamber Music this summer. It is a flexible pool of players,
which can perform in trios, quartets and quintets, according to promoters’ requirements, and is looking forward to extending its performing base in Cornwall and beyond.
A roast lunch will be available at the cafe prior to the performance.
The programme will consist of:
Schubert Quartetsatz
Faure piano quartet in C minor
Interval
Schumann piano quintet in E flat
Strauss (R) Lebesliedchen
The Cafe will be offering half price rooms on the Sunday night for those who book to have roast on the day (served 12-2). Payment to be made to confirm the booking.”
