December is here, and we have some fabulous shows, some with festive flavour, to keep you warm and thoroughly entertained in Cornwall’s welcoming village halls!
We are mid-way through The Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign! We are raising funds to help us more sustainably fill Cornwall’s wonderfully varied community halls with live performance.
Every donation made until Tuesday 6th December will be doubled, meaning every donation has twice the impact. If you can, please donate on our Big Give page. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far!
You can find all our events on our events page, or read on for more information about our December shows.
We’ll see you at a show soon.
Best wishes,
Claire & Imogen
A castle looms dark and foreboding over a small mountain village. Inside, Dr Chekhov, the brilliant and reclusive scientist, works in secret. The villagers live in dread. Strange shadows can be seen at the windows, and every night blood curdling cries of pain can be heard. What is Dr Chekhov doing? What hideous experiments is he perpetrating? What unimaginable horror might emerge from his laboratory? All will be revealed in this wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy horror featuring three fearless actors, playing over 20 roles of fast-paced fun and thrilling action.
Inspired by gothic horror movie classics of the 1930’S, IS THAT BOLT IN YOUR NECK? is a fast-paced, rollicking ride mixing spooky paranoia, surreal nightmare and frantic farce. The show is packed full of hilarious slapstick, verbal wit, and magical illusion.

Join us for a unique evening with internationally renowned harpist Ruth Wall. Exploring the theme of Migration in its many forms, Ruth and composer Graham Fitkin have taken old Gaelic songs and tunes from bagpipe and fiddle books to make ‘creative transcriptions’ for Ruth’s three harps – the sitar-like Renaissance bray harp, the beautiful medieval Gaelic wire harp (clàrsach) and the Scottish lever harp.
Ruth’s long-term research into the pibroch piping technique – a highly ornamental style underpinned by a drone – informs her playing style and inspires the sound world of this fascinating and unique concert, combining ancient aural sources with modern technology. Ruth conjures up mesmerising and intricate patterns on these unique instruments, while Graham introduces the evening and talks about the stories of migration connected to the music.

‘Owdyado Theatre’s Twisted Christmas returns to the South-West this year with its deliciously depraved take on the holiday season.
Featuring some brand new stories by writers from Cornwall and across the UK, this selection of seven original micro-plays includes tales of how to buy the perfect gift for your unloved ones, the dark side of Christmas cracker jokes, and why you should never turn your back on a panto dame. With brand-new stories added every year, you’ll never see the same show twice!
Influenced by cult classics such as Inside No.9, The Twilight Zone and Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected, Twisted Christmas promises a darkly comic evening of macabre mini plays all with a festive flavour!
